Abstract
This research describes: 1) the social and economic background of Kluai Hin Banana farmers, 2) their
production and distribution characteristics, 3) the production function and the technical and economic efficiency
of the banana production 4) cost and return, and 5) problems and threats for its production and marketing in
Yala Province. Data from 64 Kluai Hin farmers which produce this banana on at least 1 rai as a single species
was analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. With respect to the social setting, it was found that the farmers
are on average 46 years old. Most of them followed primary education and have operated their production for
about 8 years. The average planting area is 1.85 rai. The average production is 2,325 kg per rai per year and the
product price is 13.4 baht per bunch of banana. The production factors: suckers, manure, chemicals, and labor
are statistically significant to the output. However, suckers, manure and chemicals are applied at lower levels
than what is known to be optimal. To improve the economic efficiency, the use of these factors should be
increased. Meanwhile, the labor input is higher than necessary and this can and should be reduced. A costreturn
analysis shows that the total return from the production is 22,240 baht and the overall cost is 18,755 baht
per rai per year. The net return is about 6,200 baht, and the profit is about 3,485 baht per rai per year. The
problems are: the change in banana trading from counting bunches to per kilogram, and a lack of coorperation
among farmers and less support of the government.

การวิจัยมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษา 1) สภาพทางสังคมและเศรษฐกิจของเกษตรกรผู้ปลูกกล้วยหิน 2) ลักษณะ
การผลิตและจำหน่าย 3) ฟังก์ชันการผลิต และประสิทธิภาพการใช้ปัจจัยการผลิตด้านเทคนิคและเศรษฐกิจ 4) ต้นทุน
และผลตอบแทน และ 5) ปัญหาและอุปสรรคด้านการผลิตและตลาดกล้วยหิน ในจังหวัดยะลา โดยสัมภาษณ์เกษตรกร
ที่มีพื้นที่ปลูกกล้วยหินตั้งแต่ 1 ไร่ขึ้นไป จำนวน 64 ราย การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้การวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนาและเชิงปริมาณ
ผลการศึกษา พบว่า เกษตรกรมีอายุเฉลี่ย 46 ปี มีการศึกษาระดับประถมศึกษามากที่สุด และมีประสบการณ์การปลูก
กล้วยหินเฉลี่ย 8 ปี มีพื้นที่ปลูกกล้วยหินเฉลี่ย 1.85 ไร่ต่อครัวเรือน ได้ผลผลิตเฉลี่ย 2,325 กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ต่อปี

เกษตรกรมีรายได้ทั้งหมด 22,240 บาทต่อไร่ต่อปีการผลิต ต้นทุนทั้งหมด 18,755 บาทต่อไร่ ผลตอบแทนสุทธิ 6,200
บาทและกำไรสุทธิ 3,485 บาทต่อไร่ต่อปีการผลิต ปัญหา และอุปสรรค ได้แก่ การเปลี่ยนการซื้อขายจากการนับหวีเป็น
การชั่งน้ำหนัก ต่อมาได้แก่ การขาดการรวมกลุ่ม และภาครัฐสนับสนุนด้านการผลิตและการรวมกลุ่มยังมีน้อย
