Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the mental health status and find good predictors that could predict the mental health status of teachers in the three southern border provinces. These samples were 685 teachers of 60 schools. The results were summarized as follows: 1) most of mental health status were fair (43.29%), 2) teachers’ mental health status were significantly different among gender, year of service, teaching load, and salary and other incomes, 3) their mental health status was positively correlated with salary and problem minimization, but it was negatively correlated with anxiety, work adjustment, external stressors, depression, marital problems, effects of substance abuse, interpersonal conflict, self-esteem problems, family problems, suicide risk ,and effects of the unrest, 4)there were four predictors being negatively predicted in this study: self-esteem problems (X13), depression (X8), effects of the unrest affecting the teachers’ family (X17), and interpersonal conflict (X11) while one predictor was positively predicted by problem minimization (X12). These predictors had the predictability power of 29.15%. The prediction equations in raw score and standard score were as follow: Υˆ = 149.1084 + (-1.4076) X13 + (-.5817)X8 + (-.6351)X17 + (.7343)X12 + (-.5820)X11 Ζˆ = (-.3444)Z13 + (-.1695)Z8 + (-.1713)Z17 + (.1796)Z12 + (-.1479)Z11

บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยนี้ เพื่อศึกษาภาวะสุขภาพจิตและหาตัวแปรที่สามารถพยากรณ์ ภาวะสุขภาพจิตของครูในเขตพื้นที่ สามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ จำนวน 685 คนจาก 60 โรงเรียน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ครูส่วนใหญ่มีภาวะสุขภาพจิต เท่ากับคนทั่วไป (fair) ร้อยละ 43.29 2) ครูที่มีเงินเดือนและรายได้พิเศษ เพศ อายุการทำงาน และภาระงานสอนแตก ต่างกั น มี ภาวะสุขภาพจิตแตกต่างกัน 3) ภาวะสุ ขภาพจิ ตของครูมีความสัมพันธ์ ทางบวกกั บเงิ นเดือนและ รายได้พิเศษ การหลีกเลี่ยงปัญหา และอายุ แต่มีความสัมพันธ์ทางลบกับความวิตกกังวล การปรับตัวการทำงาน ความเครียดจากสิ่งเร้าภายนอก ภาวะความซึมเศร้าปัญหาครอบครัว และการใช้สารเสพติด ความขัดแย้งระหว่าง บุคคล ปัญหาการนับถือตนเอง ภาวะเสี่ยงต่อการฆ่าตัวตาย และผลกระทบจากสถานการณ์ความไม่สงบ 4) มีตัวแปร พยากรณ์ 4 ตัวที่ส่งผลต่อภาวะสุขภาพจิตของครูในทางลบ ได้แก่ ปัญหาการนับถือตนเอง (X13) ภาวะความซึมเศรา (X8) ผลกระทบต่อครอบครัวของครู (X17) ความขัดแย่งระหว่างบุคคล (X11) ส่วนการหลีกเลี่ยงปัญหา (X12) ส่งผล ต่อภาวะสุขภาพจิตของครูในทางบวก โดยมีอำนาจในการพยากรณ์ ร้อยละ 29.15 และได้สมการพยากรณ์ในรูปคะแนน ดิบและคะแนนมาตรฐาน ดังนี้ Υˆ = 149.1084 + (-1.4076) X13 + (-.5817)X8 + (-.6351)X17 + (.7343)X12 + (-.5820)X11 Ζˆ = (-.3444)Z13 + (-.1695)Z8 + (-.1713)Z17 + (.1796)Z12 + (-.1479)Z11
