Abstract

This paper explored teachers’ opinion in science teaching according to education reform and their needs in professional development. Study participants were science teachers in grades 4-6 from 50 schools in the Pathumthani Educational Service Area I. The science teaching topics exploring consisted of 1) science curriculum development, 2) lesson introduction, 3) activities in science lesson, 4) use of media and sources, and 5) assessment and evaluation. Moreover, participants were explored their needs in professional development. The instrument was a rating – scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed by means of percentages, chi-square, and content analysis. The findings indicated that teachers thought that their teaching were relevant to education reform in every teaching topics at high and moderate levels at the .05 level of significance. They expressed their needs continually in developing science content, media, working with peers in lesson planning, assessment and evaluation. Comparing the relation of teachers’ field of graduation and their needs, it was found that teachers’ field of graduation was especially related to the need in developing media at the .05 level of significance.

บทคัดย่อ
วัตถุประสงค์ของการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ เพื่อสำรวจความคิดเห็นของครูผู้สอนในระดับประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4-6 เกี่ยวกับ การจัดการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์และความต้องการในการพัฒนาวิชาชีพ กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ ครูจำนวน 150 คน จากโรงเรียน 50 แห่งในเขตพื้นที่การศึกษาปทุมธานี เขต 1 จังหวัดปทุมธานี โดยสำรวจความคิดเห็นของครูเกี่ยวกับการจัดการ เรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์ของตนตามแนวทางปฏิรูปการศึกษา 5 ด้าน คือ 1) การจัดทำหลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตร์ 2) การนำเข้า สู่บทเรียน 3) การดำเนินกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ 4) การใช้สื่อและแหล่งการเรียนรู้ 5) การวัดประเมินผลการเรียนรู้ และ สำรวจความคิดเห็นของครูเกี่ยวกับความต้องการในการพัฒนาการสอนวิทยาศาสตร์ รวมทั้งความต้องการพัฒนา วิชาชีพ เครื่องมือที่ใช้คือแบบสำรวจที่ประกอบด้วยแบบเลือกตอบ แบบมาตราส่วนประเมินค่า และแบบเติมข้อความ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการหาค่าร้อยละ ไคว์สแคว์ และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการศึกษา พบว่า ครูส่วนมากคิดว่าตนเอง สามารถปฏิบัติการสอนได้สอดคล้องกับแนวทางปฏิรูปการศึกษาในระดับมากและระดับปานกลางทุกด้านอย่างมีนัย สำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 และแสดงความต้องการที่จะพัฒนาด้านเนื้อหาวิทยาศาสตร์ กิจกรรมการเรียนการสอน การ เขียนแผนการสอน สื่อ และการทำงานร่วมกับเพื่อนครูโดยสาขาที่จบการศึกษามีความสัมพันธ์กับความต้องการพัฒนา สื่อการสอนวิทยาศาสตร์อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
