การศึกษาฉันทลักษณ์ของบทประพันธ์ในวิทยานิพนธ์ด้านวรรณคดีร้อยกรองไทย: ขอสังเกตเกี่ยวกับ วิธีวิทยา ของการศึกษา
Prosodic Studies in Theses on Thai Poetry: Methodological Consideration

Abstract
This article examines the research methodologies used in the graduate studies of prosody in Thai poetry in the last three decades (from 1978 2007). While a few studies reveal some advance in their results, a number of studies are ambiguous in their investigation. The methodology used in most studies is not literary criticism approach, and the studies mostly deal with classification of prosodic patterns, rather than provide an insight into the subject matter. Instead of consulting basic Thai literary composition textbooks, several theses rely on explanations from current books or textbooks on poetry with rigid framework for their references, of which no discussion or analysis is provided. What is also missing in those studies is prosodic examination of early literature, which is important for the understanding of connection and prosodic convention in Thai literary development. Regarding review of related literature, in many theses it is just a collage of selected documents and articles, without indication of their association with the studies themselves. In short, the theses dealing with prosody in Thai poetry through those methods follow similar study processes and offer similar results of the study. In other words, they do not point out the important role of the prosody in the literary composition of the poet.

บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงคที่จะสํารวจ วิธีวิทยา ในการศึกษาฉันทลักษณของบทประพันธ ในวิทยานิพนธ ดานวรรณคดีรอยกรองของไทยในรอบ 30 ปที่ผานมา (พ.ศ.2520 - พ.ศ.2550) ผลการศึกษา พบวา แมจะมี วิ ทยานิพนธ บางเรื่องใหคําตอบที่แสดงใหเห็นความ ก าวหนาในการศึ กษาฉันทลักษณ อยู บาง แตก็ยั งมี วิทยานิพนธอีกเปนจํานวนมากที่ไมไดแสดงจุดมุ งหมาย ชัดเจนในการศึกษาฉันทลักษณ วิธีวิทยาในการศึกษา ฉั นทลักษณสวนใหญยั งไมอาจจัดเปนระเบี ยบวิธี ทางวรรณคดีวิจารณ จึงมีแต เพี ยงจัดประเภทของ ฉันทลักษณตามขอบังคับในตําราฉันทลักษณ มากกวา ที่จะทําความเขาใจธรรมชาติ ของฉันทลักษณ อยาง แทจริง วิทยานิพนธหลายเรื่องนิยมใชคําอธิบายจาก หนังสือหรือตํารารอยกรองที่เขียนขึ้นในชั้นหลังๆ ซึ่งมี กรอบคอนขางตายตัวมาใชอธิบายขอมูลที่ศึกษามากกวา ใชตําราประพั นธศาสตรเลมสําคั ญๆ ของไทย และ มักยึดคํ าอธิบายจากตําราที่ยกมาอางอิงนั้นโดยขาด การวิพากษวิจารณ และไมยอนกลับไปศึกษาฉันทลักษณ ของวรรณคดี ในยุคกอนหนาเพื่อทําความเข าใจความ เชื่อมโยงและขนบในการสร างสรรค ฉันทลักษณใน เสนทางวรรณศิลปของไทย นอกจากนี้ ในการเขียน เอกสารและงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวของ วิทยานิพนธหลายเรื่อง ก็ไมไดแสดงให เห็นว าเอกสารและงานวิ จัยที่คั ดมา สัมพันธเกี่ยวของกับงานวิจัยของตนอยางไร หากเขียน ในลักษณะการตั ดตอขอมูล วิทยานิ พนธ ที่ศึกษา วรรณคดีรอยกรองของไทยที่ใชวิธีวิทยาในการศึกษา ฉั นทลั กษณที่ กล าวมานี้จึ งมี แนวทางการศึ กษา ที่ไมแตกตางกันนัก คําตอบของเรื่องฉันทลักษณจึง ออกมาคลายๆ กัน คือ ไมอาจชี้ใหเห็นวาฉันทลักษณ ที่กวีใชนั้นมีความสําคัญอยางไรในบทประพันธ
