Abstract
The purposes of this research were: to explore the latent structure of the college student motivation to
participate in student Activities Scale, and to compare each motivation dimensions with others motivation
dimensions and to compare motivations between clubs and gender. The participants were 342 first year and
second year undergraduate students, firs semester of academic year 2007 from Prince of Songkla University,
Hatyai campus. The results revealed that the dimensions of the scale was consistenty with the Those found in
previous western studies. They included 6 dimensions; value, understanding, career, social, protective, and
enhancement. In additions, the highest 3 reasons that stimulate student to participate student activities were
understanding, enhancement, and value. There were no motivations differences between clubs but females
motivations were higher than male.

บทคัดย่อ
งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อค้นหาองค์ประกอบของแบบวัดแรงจูงใจในการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมนักศึกษา และศึกษา
ความแตกต่างของแรงจูงใจประเภทต่างๆ ความแตกต่างของแรงจูงใจระหว่างเพศและประเภทชมรมที่สังกัด
กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาเป็นนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีชั้นปีที่1 และ2 ของมหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขต
หาดใหญ่ ภาคการศึกษาที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2550 จำนวน 342 คน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ลักษณะโครงสร้างองค์ประกอบ
แรงจูงใจในการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมนักศึกษามีความสอดคล้องกับโครงสร้างองค์ประกอบที่ได้พัฒนามาแล้วในสังคม
ตะวันตก ซึ่งประกอบด้วย 6 มิติ คือ การให้คุณค่า การทำความเข้าใจ หน้าที่การงาน การเข้าสังคม การปกป้องตนเอง
และการสนองความต้องการของตน แรงจูงใจสำคัญที่ทำให้นักศึกษาเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมนักศึกษา ได้แก่ความต้องการ
ในการพัฒนาความสามารถของตนเอง (การทำความเข้าใจ) ความต้องการการยอมรับของสังคม (การสนองความ
ต้องการของตน) และการเห็นคุณค่าในการทำความดีให้กับสังคม (การให้คุณค่า) นอกจากนี้พบว่า นักศึกษาที่เข้าร่วม
กิจกรรมชมรมที่แตกต่างกันมีแรงจูงใจไม่แตกต่างกัน แต่นักศึกษาหญิงมีแรงจูงใจสูงกว่านักศึกษาชาย
