The Instruction of Teaching of Biology Course Using Science, Technology and Society.

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to develop the Science, Technology and Society (STS) a course on teaching of Biology, to examine preservice science teachers learning behaviors and their achievement. The subjects of this study were the 27 third- year students in the academic year 2001 and 17 third-year students in the academic year 2002 enrolled in Teaching of Biology Course, Faculty of Education, Prince of Songkla University. The findings were as follows: 1) There were 7 development stages of Teaching of Biology Course following the application of STS: questioning, planning, exploring, reflecting, sharing, extending and acting. 2) The application of STS instruction enhanced the following learning behaviors of the preservice science teachers: investigating, analyzing, reasoning, thinking, expressing and applying the knowledge. 3) Preservice biology teachers could master the teaching method, their learning achievement in biology contents was higher, their teaching skills, lessons planning and instruction were developed and their attitudes toward Teaching of Biology Course and Science, Technology and Society were higher. They understood the interactions among science, technology and society and valued science and technology as life survival factors. They also believed that the scientists had to be open-minded, logical, unbiased and objective in their work and that scientific knowledge was tentative and subject to change.

บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาการจัดการเรียนการสอนวิชาวิธีสอนชีววิทยาตามแนวคิดวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยีและสังคม (STS) ศึกษาพฤติกรรมการเรียนรู้และผลการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิดนี้ กลุ่มที่ศึกษาเป็นนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ชั้นปีที่ 3 คณะศึกษาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตปัตตานี ที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนวิชาวิธีสอนชีววิทยาในปีการศึกษา 2544 จำนวน 27 คน และปีการศึกษา 2545 จำนวน 17 คน ผลการวิจัยมีดังนี้ 1) การจัดการเรียนการสอนตามแนวคิด STS ประกอบด้วยการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ 7 ขั้นคือ ขั้นตั้งคำถาม ขั้นวางแผนค้นหาคำตอบ ขั้นค้นหาคำตอบ ขั้นสะท้อนความคิด ขั้นแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ ขั้นขยายขอบเขตความรู้และความคิด และขั้นนำไปปฏิบัติ 2) การจัดการเรียนการสอนตามแนวคิดนี้ พัฒนาและส่งเสริมพฤติกรรมการเรียนรู้ของนักศึกษาในด้านการสืบค้นความรู้ด้วยตนเอง การคิดวิเคราะห์ การมีเหตุผล การกล้าคิด กล้าแสดงออกและการประยุกต์ใช้ความรู้ 3) นักศึกษามีความรู้ความเข้าใจวิธีสอนชีววิทยา มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนเนื้อหาวิชาชีววิทยาหลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียน พัฒนาทักษะการสอนชีววิทยา การวางแผนและการจัดการเรียนรู้ มีเจตคติที่ดีต่อวิชาวิธีสอนชีววิทยาและการจัดการเรียนรู้ตามแนวคิด STS มีแนวคิดถูกต้องเกี่ยวกับธรรมชาติของวิทยาศาสตร์และความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์ ตระหนักถึงความสัมพันธ์ของวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยีและสังคมและมีความเห็นว่าวิทยาศาสตร์ และเทคโนโลยีมีความสำคัญต่อทุกคนในสังคม นักวิทยาศาสตร์ต้องใจกว้าง มีเหตุผล ไม่ลำเอียง และความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์นั้นเป็นความรู้ชั่วคราวที่สามารถเปลี่ยนแปลงได้
