คำเรียกสีของเงาะป่า (ซาไก)

Abstract
บทความนี้เป็นการศึกษาคำเรียกสีของชนเผ่าซาไกที่ยังดำรงชีวิตแบบเก็บของป่าล่าสัตว์ อาศัยอยู่ตามป่าเขาทางชายแดนภาคใต้ของประเทศไทย ภาษาของพวกเขาจัดอยู่ในภาษาถิ่นกันซิว สาขาแอสเลียนเหนือ ตระกูลภาษาออสโดรเอเซียติก วัตถุประสงค์คือ การพิสูจน์ว่าการจำแนกประเภทสีในภาษานี้ มีความเกี่ยวพันกับลักษณะการรับรู้สิ่งแวดล้อม และวิถีชีวิตของพวกเขา เครื่องมือที่ใช้เก็บข้อมูลคือแผ่นสีจำนวน 218 สี จัดเรียงสลับคละกันซึ่งใช้ในการสัมภาษณ์ผู้บอกภาษาซาไกเพศหญิง ผู้เขียนพบว่าภาษาซาไกถิ่นนี้มีคำเรียกสีพื้นฐาน 6 คำ ได้แก่ pE;/t3k สีขาว .bEl.t3k สีดำและสีเข้มของสีอื่น pE.huN สีแดงสด ta.hon สีออกแดง สีชมพู สีส้ม สีม่วงอ่อน hEr.?Oi สีเหลืองและสีออกเหลือง bEl.?un สีเขียว สีน้ำเงินอ่อน สีฟ้า นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าภาษาซาไกไม่มีคำเรียกสีที่เฉพาะไม่พื้นฐานหรือคำเรียกสีที่เฉพาะเจาะจงไปเลย สิ่งที่น่าสนใจคือ ภาษาซาไกมีคำเรียกสีประเภทแดงอยู่ถึง 2 คำ คือ pE.huN ที่ใช้เรียกสีแดงสด กับ ta.hon ที่ใช้เรียกสีที่ออกแดง หรือมีแดงปน ในบทความนี้ยังได้เสนอขอสันนิษฐานเกี่ยวกับลำดับของวิวัฒนาการคำเรียกสีพื้นฐานในภาษาซาไก และอภิปรายเกี่ยวกับวิธีการสร้างคำเรียกสีของคนซาไกไว้โดยสรุปได้ว่า การสร้างคำเรียกสีในภาษาซาไกมีความเกี่ยวพันอย่างไกล้ชิดกับวิถีชีวิต วัฒนธรรม และการรับรู้ปรากฏการณ์ธรรมชาติที่แวดล้อมพวกเขาอยู่ หลักฐานที่นำมาสนับสนุนข้อสรุปดังกล่าว เป็นข้อมูลทางชาติพันธุ์วรรณนาที่กล่าวถึงลักษณะวิถีชีวิตอันเรียบง่ายและการให้ความสำคัญกับสีแดงเป็นพิเศษในวัฒนธรรมของพวกเขา คำสำคัญ : คำเรียกสี, ซาไก, กันซิว This article deals with color categories of the Sakai, a gathering-hunting tribe in the Southern border of Thailand. Their language is in Kensiu group, Northern Aslian branch of Austroasiatice family, The purpose is to prove that color categorization is associated with a peoples ways of life and perception of the environment around them. Cards of 218 colors were used to elicite color terms from a Sakai female informant. It is found that in Sakai there are only 6 basic color terms, i.e. pEl tauwhite, pEl.t3k black and dark color pE.huN bright red, ta.hon pink, orange, light purple and relative presence of red hEr,?Oo Yellow and relative presence of yellow and bEl.?un green and light blue, there is no specific color term. It is interesting to note that there are two of red color terms, i.e. pE.huN for bright red and ta.hon for pink, orange,light purple and relative presence of red color. Scale of color evolution and color conceptualization in Sakai are hypothesized. It is concluded that Sakai color categorization are closely related to the ways they live and perceive the environment around them. These conclusions are supported by some ethnographic data describing their simple life and the important rote of the red color in their culture. Keywords : color terms, Sakai, Kensiu
