The Servey on Situation of Raising Beef Cattle in Pattani Province

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to study the situation of raising beef cattle in Pattani. The sample of 383 farmers was randomly selected from the population of 16,231 farmers in twelve districts. The research tool was a structural questionnaire. The data were also collected by interview. The data were statistically analyzed using frequency, distribution and percentage. The results revealed that most farmers were male, Muslim and 41-60 years of age with a primary education. They were all small scale farmers who raised their cattle less than 3 heads per family. They have raised beef cattle for 5-10 years. The expense of raising beef cattle was 501-1,000 baht/head/year. Income from cattle sale was about 5,001-10,000 baht/head/year. They sold their beef cattle raised at their farms. Buyers were general people. Majority of farmers raised native cattle. The average area owned by farmers were 5 rai per family. The farmers raised their cattle tether in natural pasture. They utilized natural pasture in 3 ways e.g. soilage, grazing and soilage and supplemented concentrate. They had no plan for pasture plantation or feed. Furthermore, they also used agricultural by-products as feed. Medical herbs, Siamese rough bush (Streblus asper), Termeric (Curcuma longa) and Bittle bush (Ageratum houstonianum) were also used in beef cattle farm.

บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาสภาพ การเลี้ยงโคเนื้อของเกษตรกรในจังหวัดปตั ตานี โดยสุม่ ตัวอย่างจำนวน 383 ราย จากประชากรผู้เลี้ยงโคเนื้อ ในจังหวัดปัตตานีจำนวน ทั้งสิ้น16,231 ราย ใช้วิธีการ สุม่ ตัวอยา่ งแบบงา่ ยและเก็บรวบรวมขอ้ มูลโดยวิธีการ สัมภาษณ์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล อธิบายผลการทดลองโดย ใช้ค่าสถิติ ความถี่และร้อยละผลการศึกษา พบว่า เกษตรกรที่เลี้ยงโคเนื้อส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศชาย มีอายุ ระหว่าง 41-60 ปี นับถือศาสนาอิสลาม มีระดับการศึกษา อยูใ่นชว่ งประถมศึกษา และมีประสบการณก์ ารเลี้ยงโค เนื้อเป็นระยะเวลา 5-10 ปี มีค่าใช้จ่ายที่ใช้ในการลี้ยง โคเนื้อระหว่าง 501-1,000 บาทต่อตัวต่อปี และมีรายได้ จากการขายโคเนื้ออยูใ่นชว่ งระหวา่ ง 5,001-10,000 บาท ตอ่ ตัวตอ่ ป ีพันธุโ์คเนื้อที่เลี้ยงสว่ นใหญคื่อพันธุพ์ ื้นเมือง จำนวนที่เลี้ยงน้อยกว่า 3 ตัวต่อครัวเรือน โดยเกษตรกร ขายโคเนื้อแก่พ่อค้าที่มารับซื้อถึงบ้านและเป็นบุคคล ทั่วไป รูปแบบการเลี้ยงเป็นแบบผูกล่าม มีพื้นที่ถือครอง ในการเลี้ยงโคเนื้อเฉลี่ยไม่เกิน 5 ไร่ อาหารที่ใช้เลี้ยง โคนั้นจะใชห้ ญา้ ที่ขึ้นอยูต่ ามธรรมชาติเลี้ยงโคเนื้อเพียง อย่างเดียว และไม่มีการปลูกพืชอาหารสัตว์ชนิดอื่น วิธีการใช้ประโยชน์จากแปลงหญ้ามี 3 วิธีคือ วิธีการ ตัดสดให้กิน ตัดและเสริมอาหารข้นและปล่อยแปลง มีการนำผลพลอยได้ทางเกษตรมาใช้เป็นอาหาร นอกจากนั้นมีการนำพืชที่มีสรรพคุณทางยามาใช้ ในการรักษาโรคแก่โคเนื้อ อาทิ ข่อย ขมิ้น และสาบเสือ
