Abstract

The main objective of this study was to calculate an economic value of potential utilization of medicinal plants in Khao Hua - Chang community forest Tambon Tamot, Amphoe Tamot, Changwat Phatthalung. The research was done using a survey research, by collecting data on knowledge and local wisdom of medicinal use of plants in the study area. Research results discovered 149 species of medicinal plants, divided into 32 groups according to their properties, which could be used for treatment or cure of diseases. The data on potential uses of each part of medicinal plants were needed in order to calculate how much the resources are available for use. These data were collected by weighing, measuring, or counting all different parts of medicinal plants, together with inquiring the data from those who regularly make uses of the plants. The data on prices of drugs that used for treatments of the same diseases were gathered from reliable drugs stores. The prices of some drugs were in two different levels: middle prices and high prices. These information were then used to calculate the value of medicinal plants using market price approach. The economic value of medicinal plants in Khao Hua - Chang forest was calculated using prices of drugs that medicinal plants could substitute and the evaluation showed the result of 1,117,135,906.40 bahts per year for value of medicinal plants using middle prices and 1,755,706,571.56 bahts per year for value of medicinal prices if used high prices of drugs. Research results indicated that there was a high economic value of medicinal plants in Khao Hua – Chang community forest and this should be carefully taken into account when making decisions on alternative uses of this forest.

บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินมูลค่าทางเศรษฐกิจของศักยภาพการใช้ประโยชน์พืชสมุนไพรในป่า ชุมชนเขาหัวช้าง ตำบลตะโหมด อำเภอตะโหมด จังหวัดพัทลุง ซึ่งเป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจโดยรวบรวมองค์ความรู้เกี่ยว กับลักษณะการใช้ประโยชน์ของทรัพยากรพืชสมุนไพรที่ใช้เป็นยารักษาโรคในเชิงเดี่ยวตามภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่นจำนวน 149 ชนิด สามารถจัดแบ่งได้เป็น 32 กลุ่มตามสรรพคุณ รวมทั้งรวบรวมน้ำหนักและปริมาณตามแต่ละส่วนของพืช สมุนไพรที่มีการนำมาใช้ประโยชน์ตามสรรพคุณด้วยวิธีชั่ง ตวง วัด นับ และการสอบถามประกอบการสัมภาษณ์จาก ผู้ใช้ประโยชน์โดยตรง และสำรวจข้อมูลราคาของยาแผนปัจจุบันที่ใช้รักษาโรคตามกลุ่มสรรพคุณของโรคที่ตรงกับการรักษา ด้วยพืชสมุนไพรจากร้านขายยาแผนปัจจุบันเมื่อเทียบประสิทธิภาพของการรักษา ยาแผนปัจจุบันแต่ละบริษัทที่ผลิต ยามีราคาต่างกันจึงจัดแบ่งมูลค่าออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มยาที่มีราคาระดับกลางและกลุ่มยาที่มีราคาระดับสูง เพื่อ นำข้อมูลทั้งหมดมาใช้ในการประเมินมูลค่าด้วยวิธีราคาตลาดทดแทนโดยใช้ราคาสินค้าที่เกี่ยวข้องเป็นสินค้าทดแทน ผลการประเมินมูลค่าของพืชสมุนไพรในป่าชุมชนเขาหัวช้างโดยใช้ราคายาแผนปัจจุบันทดแทนจากจำนวนพืช สมุนไพรทั้งหมด 149 ชนิด พบว่า ศักยภาพของพืชสมุนไพรที่สามารถนำมาใช้ประโยชน์เพื่อเป็นรักษาโรคมีมูลค่าเท่า กับ 1,117,135,906.40 บาทต่อปี และถ้าใช้ราคาในกลุ่มของยาแผนปัจจุบันที่มีราคาสูงมีมูลค่าเท่ากับ 1,755,706,571.56 บาทต่อปี จากผลการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นถึงว่าทรัพยากรพืชสมุนไพรที่มีในป่าชุมชนเขาหัวช้างมี มูลค่าทางเศรษฐกิจสูง ดังนั้น จึงควรนำข้อมูลดังกล่าวนี้เข้าร่วมพิจารณาในการตัดสินใจอย่างรอบคอบหากจะมีการ นำป่าแห่งนี้ไปใช้ประโยชน์ในทางเลือกอื่น ๆ
