Abstract
This article aims to study imagery in Saksiri Misomsups book of poems-Mu Nan Si Khao.
The outstanding feature of Mu Nan Si Khao lies in its defamitiarization of form and content. Saksiri manipulates sounds and words to effectively convey aesthetic experiences as well as to provoke thought. The harmony of form and content can be found both in his free verse and poems. Familiar conventional versification has been customized to render smooth overflowing and unconstrained verse. With respect to content, the book remarkably depicts lifes essence-imagination, love and wisdom-which is overlooked by modern society, but is salient in the world of children and in the rustic way of life. The poet invokes the readers to ponder and reminds them that most peoples concept of life deviates from the true meaning and value of humanity. The readers are encouraged to view the world through the eyes of children with lively imagination and through the eyes of rural people who live a complacent life and in harmony with the nature. Alarming problems of spiritual and ethical deterioration resulted from misconceived materialistic development have also been portrayed.
