Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate Thai high school students’ conceptions of chemical equilibrium. One hundred and twenty five Thai high school students from three schools in Chanthaburi Province were asked to complete the Chemical Equilibrium Concept Survey (CECS) consisting of 10 questions related to this concept. The results showed that most of Thai high school students’ conceptions of chemical equilibrium ranged from a partial understanding to no understanding in the topic of changes to be equilibrium, equilibrium in chemical reaction, equilibrium constant, factors affecting equilibrium conditions and Le Châtelier’s principle, and chemical equilibrium in living things and in industrial applications. A few students showed sound understanding in some topic of chemical equilibrium concept. These findings suggested that more effective teaching strategies need to be developed for enhancing students’ sound understanding of chemical equilibrium concept.

บทคัดย่อ
การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดเรื่องสมดุลเคมีของนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย จำนวน 125 คน จากโรงเรียน 3 แห่ง ในจังหวัดจันทบุรี นักเรียนเหล่านี้ตอบคำถามในแบบสำรวจแนวคิดเรื่อง สมดุลเคมี (Chemical Equilibrium Concept Survey, CECS) ซึ่งประกอบด้วยคำถามจำนวน 10 ข้อ___ ผลการวิจัย พบว่า แนวคิดเรื่องสมดุลเคมีของนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายในเรื่องการดำเนินเข้าสู่ภาวะสมดุล ภาวะสมดุล ในปฏิกิริยาเคมี ลักษณะของสมดุลเคมี ค่าคงที่สมดุล ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อภาวะสมดุลและหลักของเลอชาเตอลิเอ และ สมดุลเคมีในสิ่งมีชีวิตและการประยุกต์ใช้ในอุตสาหกรรม เป็นแนวคิดเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์แบบไม่สมบูรณ์จนถึงไม่มี แนวคิดเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์เป็นส่วนมาก มีนักเรียนเพียงบางส่วนเท่านั้นที่มีแนวคิดเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์เรื่องสมดุลเคมี ผลที่ได้จากการวิจัยได้ข้อเสนอแนะว่าควรมีการพัฒนาการจัดการเรียนการสอนเรื่องสมดุลเคมีให้มีประสิทธิภาพ มากขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมให้นักเรียนมีแนวคิดเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์เรื่องสมดุลเคมี
