แนวคิดเรื่องวัสดุของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 3
Conception about Materials of Grade 1-3 Students

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate conception about materials hold by level 1 students (grade 1-3), six for each grade, at Kwanpracha School in Nonthaburi province. An individual interview with eighteen students about 16 different items was conducted in this study. The result indicated that 51 percentage of student responses described objects by names, 34 percentage by uses and 13 percentage by names and uses. Students descriptions about names and names with its uses were mostly found in grade three, whereas most of grade 1 students mentioned only uses when describing objects. Moreover, level 1 students were able to classify objects in terms of kind of object, namely toy or utensil, uses, observable properties, materials and its properties. Forty four percentages of grade one students responses mentioned the classification of objects by observable properties, however, 53 percentage of grade two students and 45 percentage of grade one students responses mentioned the classification by materials. Additionally, the finding indicated that only 56 percentage of level 1 students hold scientific understanding in kinds of material. The easiest concept for the students was fabric, and then wood. Fifteen percentages of students hold misunderstanding about rubber, glass, plastic, and metal, respectively because of the lack of understanding about material identities and everyday language uses.

บทคัดย่อ
การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ สำรวจแนวคิดเรื่องวัสดุของนักเรียนในระดับประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1-3 ของโรงเรียน ขวัญประชา ในจังหวัดนนทบุรี ระดับชั้นละ 6 คนโดยใช้การสัมภาษณ์เป็นรายบุคคลกับกลุ่มที่ศึกษา จำนวน 18 คน เกี่ยวกับสิ่งของที่แตกต่างกัน 16 ชิ้น ผลการศึกษาพบว่า คำตอบของนักเรียนคิดเป็นร้อยละ 51 กล่าวถึงสิ่งของโดย การบอกชื่อ ร้อยละ 34 กล่าวถึงการใช้งาน และอีกร้อยละ 13 บอกทั้งชื่อและการใช้งานของสิ่งของ ซึ่งคำตอบของ นักเรียนที่บอกชื่ออย่างเดียว และชื่อพร้อมการใช้งานพบมากในนักเรียนชั้น ป.3 ในขณะที่คำตอบของนักเรียนที่บอก การใช้งานส่วนใหญ่พบมากในนักเรียนชั้น ป.1 นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่า นักเรียนสามารถจัดกลุ่มสิ่งของตามประเภทของ วัตถุ (ของเล่น ของใช้) การใช้งาน ลักษณะและสมบัติที่สังเกตได้ของวัตถุ ชนิดและสมบัติของวัสดุ โดยร้อยละ 44 ของ คำตอบของนักเรียนชั้น ป.1 เป็นการจัดกลุ่มสิ่งของตามลักษณะที่สังเกตได้ ในขณะที่ร้อยละ 53 และ 45 ของคำตอบ ของนักเรียนชั้น ป.2 และ ป. 3 ตามลำดับ เป็นการจัดกลุ่มสิ่งของตามชนิดของวัสดุ และจากการวิเคราะห์แนวคิดเรื่อง วัสดุของนักเรียนในช่วงชั้นนี้พบว่า คำตอบของนักเรียนเพียงร้อยละ 56 เท่านั้น ที่มีแนวคิดเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์ แนวคิด ที่นักเรียนมีความเข้าใจมากที่สุด คือ ผ้า รองลงมา คือ ไม้ และแนวคิดที่นักเรียนเข้าใจคลาดเคลื่อนคิดเป็นร้อยละ 15 ได้แก่ ยาง แก้ว พลาสติก และโลหะ ตามลำดับ ความเข้าใจที่คลาดเคลื่อนดังกล่าวเป็นผลมาจากนักเรียนขาดความ เข้าใจถึงลักษณะเฉพาะของวัสดุแต่ละชนิดและภาษาที่ใช้ในชีวิตประจำวัน
